Kate Mazzara is a licensed Professional Engineer with over 30 years of experience in civil/transportation engineering, specifically the design and project management of highway projects for the State of Maryland and Prince George’s County. She is currently the Associate Director of the Office of Engineering and Project Management for Prince George’s County Department of Public Works and Transportation. In this role, Ms. Mazzara is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the county’s road and bridge Capital Improvement Program, management of the bridge inspection program, traffic analysis and design, pedestrian safety program, green complete street program, the acquisition and management of real properties, and construction activities as related to the county’s infrastructure. Previously, Ms. Mazzara was with the Maryland State Highway Administration for 20 years, serving in a number of positions responsible for the design and project management of a multitude of complex and major projects throughout the state. She also oversaw the system preservation program, including resurfacing, intersection improvements, and pedestrian improvements, for state roads in Montgomery and Prince George’s County. In this role, she often served as a liaison between the Administration and local officials. Ms. Mazzara graduated with a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park. She has been a licensed Professional Engineer since 2000.
