Peter Haag brings 20 years of specialized experience as a transportation traffic engineer. He began his career with the Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) in 2006 and has since advanced to serve as the Chief of Traffic Engineering. In this leadership role, Peter oversees DelDOT’s Traffic Engineering Section, guiding the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of traffic control systems and Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) devices across all state-maintained roadways. Under his direction, the section also manages Delaware’s statewide traffic safety initiatives, including the Strategic Highway Safety Plan and Automated Enforcement programs, ensuring the state’s roadways are safe, efficient, and responsive to emerging transportation technologies. Peter holds Professional Engineer (PE) licenses in both Delaware and Pennsylvania and is a certified Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE), reflecting his deep technical expertise and commitment to advancing traffic engineering practice.
